Some people are unsure who to approach when deciding to remodel or install a new bathroom. Do you contact a plumber, tiler, joiner or perhaps all three? Although with the very simplest of bathrooms this can sometimes work, more often than not it can lead to a long drawn out process with substandard results, each tradesman blaming the other for the problems. Plumbers aren’t the most reliable or punctual at the best of times, and once they’ve completed the first fix you then have to wait for the tiler to become free, and if they are good, that could be quite some time. The same goes for any other trades required such as an electrician, plasterer and joiner. I’ve turned up to some clients houses where a single shower room has remained ongoing at 7 months. All these issues are removed when you come to a dedicated bathroom installer. We pride ourselves on delivering top quality results with minimum disruption. You won’t be left, without what could be your only bathroom, for any longer than is absolutely necessary. We don’t juggle jobs. Our calendar is block booked. We are with you every day until the bathroom is complete.

Design & supply

Right from our first site visit things are done right. Punctuality is one of the top complaints regarding tradesmen. We pride ourselves on clear communication and punctuality. Unlike a bathroom showroom, our expertise mean we know what is and isn’t possible from a plumbing and regulations viewpoint. Therefore, you don’t set your heart on a design to then be told, once the job is underway, that in reality it isn’t possible and immediately have to start compromising or returning goods purchased as they are no longer suitable.

Having installed and renovated nearly 100 bathrooms, and coming from a creative background, we also have a keen eye for design and will quickly pick up from you exactly what you envisage. We will have solutions and suggestions, and often alternative ideas you may not have considered previously, which have the potential to greatly improve the outcome at the design phase. We have numerous suppliers we work with to suit all budgets. Many of them also offer our customers discounted trade rates on their products. Some will also take measurements of the space, recorded by us during the first site visit, to create a 3D Digital drawing of the proposed design. This can be tweaked and helps you know you’re going to get exactly what you want. We also have excellent knowledge of all the top brands to suit different styles of bathrooms.

plumbing

The key component to your bathroom working as it should is in the plumbing. The first consideration is always whether your boiler is up to the task, particularly if you are adding an ensuite that didn’t previously exist. Our gas engineer is a trusted operator with a lifetime of experience. The good news is, that more often than not, existing boilers are perfectly suitable.

More and more modern design relies upon clean lines and minimal clutter. This means not hiding pipework in crude boxed out sections but recessing them into the walls or subfloor. This is a step most plumbers avoid. Also, tiled in baths and concealed cisterns, mean that any error in the plumbing could lead to unnecessary expense further down the line. We take great care in this respect and have an excellent reputation for not getting called back. But rest assured, if there is a problem we won’t be disappearing or changing our number!

Electrics

There are more electrics involved in a bathroom than often realised by our customers. Extractor fans, shaver sockets, spotlights & dimmer switches are the first to consider. But where the customers budget allows we can also provide the following;

PIR night lights - find your way in the middle of the night

Underfloor heating - touch screen wifi enabled thermostats

Mirror de-mister pads - no more wiping away the condensation

Joinery

Depending on what floor finish you are after, then a new subfloor may be needed. Some cast iron baths are so heavy, joists may need reinforcing in order to be structurally sound. Joists may need to be adapted to ensure correct flow on waste fall for a walk in wet room shower tray. Stud partitions to create a new ensuite in the corner of a master bedroom. Recessed shelving/niche, tiled in bath, skirts, architrave, concealed cisterns and a whole lot more. All in all there can be quite a bit of joinery required in a bathroom. Rest assured we have it covered - level, plumb and square.

Tiling

When it comes to tiling we can get more than a little obsessive. Perfect grout lines, falling just where they should, with no lippage - level, flat and true. The tile job can make or break a bathroom. It’s all in the prep. We almost always take the room back to brick/stud/joist and re-board so we know the surface we are tiling on is perfect. If not, all the errors simply transfer to the tile finish. In wet areas we use a Jackoboard substrate, taped and sealed. Where necessary we will use a decoupling membrane under the tile for protection. All this might sound technical but it’s a key step to ensuring a successful tile job that will last for many years without failure. Unfortunately, this is a step often skipped by many a tiler. Although we can use tile trim to cover exposed edges, where the budget allows, we love to mitre external corners for the ultimate clean finish. We are also fully trained in the necessary techniques and lifting equipment to install the latest extreme large format tiles. These modern porcelain tiles come in sizes of up to 3 metres in length. Many can also be ‘book matched’ for the ultimate in high end luxury tiling, often reserved for commercial premises such as hotel spas and penthouses. Whatever your tile preferences we will take the utmost pride in striving for perfection every time.

wet rooms & steam rooms

Wet rooms are now becoming fairly commonplace for many of our clients and we believe that the next evolution of the luxury bathroom is the steam room. With modern steam generators taking up less and less space and able to be maintained from a small cupboard adjacent to the shower/steam room, relaxing in your own steamy aromatherapy shower room is more attainable than ever.
